When Adrian and Carole first met with our team, they weren’t entirely sure what they wanted. They knew something needed to change financially, but they didn’t yet have a plan or a clear sense of direction. What they did know was that they were looking for guidance across both shares and property, and for advice that felt personal, not transactional.
That first conversation set the tone. “It wasn’t a sales pitch,” Adrian shared. “It was more of a chat. They asked us about our lives and our goals, and we realised we hadn’t really thought about that.”
As UK expats living in Australia, they needed support that spanned structures, strategies, and borders. Our team began by establishing and managing a QROPS-compliant SMSF, allowing them to transfer their UK pensions into a flexible Australian fund. With the right foundations in place, they sold their existing home and purchased a new one better suited to their future lifestyle. Their SMSF was then used to build an investment property in Brisbane, which they later sold for a profit, before building again in Perth. Throughout the journey, they received support across lending, tax, and strategy to keep everything aligned.
But the real shift wasn’t just financial.
“We didn’t realise we had financial strength until someone showed us how to use it,” they said. “Now we don’t worry about money. We don’t even think about the future, because it’s already taken care of.”
Adrian and Carole are now doing things they never imagined, like planning a cruise, joining their local pickleball club, and enjoying life without second-guessing every expense. “It’s nice to know Carol doesn’t have to worry anymore,” Adrian added. “We can just live.”
Their only regret? Not starting sooner.
