Five Minutes With…
“I grew up on the Central Coast of NSW where I got my first taste of working life at a Hoyts cinema. It felt very glamorous at the time, certainly compared to my friends working at McDonald’s! That job taught me a lot about customer service and teamwork, lessons I’ve carried into every role since.
My career in financial planning began in 2008, in an admin role at a practice in North Sydney. It was there I learned the importance of having a plan. From supporting advisers with strategy development to preparing written advice, I naturally progressed into an adviser role myself.
These days, my role is all about people. I meet with new and existing clients to provide tailored advice across superannuation, investments, and insurance. I also make time to simply check in, catch up, and make sure my clients feel supported and on track. Every day is different, and I love that. I stay current with industry changes through ongoing education, and I work closely with product providers to ensure we’re always offering smart, effective solutions.
My interest in financial services started when I maxed out my first credit card as a teenager. I was only making the minimum repayments (just like the bank suggested) and couldn’t work out why I wasn’t getting ahead. My dad sat me down and explained how interest worked, and that conversation changed everything. It sparked my passion for helping others understand and take control of their finances. Whether someone is just starting out or already in a strong position, the right advice can make a huge difference – and I love being part of that process.
Outside of work, I enjoy entertaining at home over great food with family and friends. I’m also a keen golfer, love spending time with my husband and our two dogs, and I’ll happily watch just about any sport with a ball. We even plan our holidays around major matches!”
