Five Minutes With…
“I grew up in the small coastal town of Port Stephens, NSW, and made the move to the Gold Coast in early 2022. My first job was at Bunnings Warehouse when I was 16, and I’ve worked in a range of customer service roles since then, so I’ve had plenty of experience working with people and making sure things run smoothly.
Today, I’m a Client Services Officer, working closely with my colleagues to implement financial advice and support the team in delivering exceptional service. I take pride in keeping the back end organised and efficient so we can provide the best possible outcomes for our clients. I’m currently studying towards a career in financial planning and am also considering paraplanning, particularly to deepen my understanding of superannuation and insurance as I grow in the profession.
My interest in finance started young, thanks to my dad. He’s a fitter mechanic by trade but has always had a strong interest in economics and the financial markets. He taught himself and, in turn, passed on that knowledge to me. That early influence inspired me to pursue a career where I could continue learning, develop real financial insight, and use that knowledge to improve people’s financial wellbeing.
What drives me most is creating value for clients; helping people, even in small ways, and knowing they’re in a better position after we’ve worked together. That’s what makes the job rewarding.
Outside of work, I’m usually studying or writing assignments for uni. When I get some spare time, you’ll find me watching CNBC, analysing economic data, or valuing equities using both technical and fundamental methods. It helps me stay sharp and understand the risks and opportunities in the market. And when I want to unwind, there’s nothing better (or more frustrating!) than a round of golf.”
