Five Minutes With…
I’ve always had an interest in property, and my passion for it has grown over time as my roles have become more in-depth. Aside from the standard ‘character-building’ first teenage job of working in a takeaway chicken shop, my first real career move was as an assistant in a boutique law firm, where I became part of the processes inside property law and conveyancing matters.
From there, I made the move into real estate, working in property management before transitioning into a Contract Administrator role for a development company. In that role, I worked primarily in the greenfield and medium-density sectors, which gave me a lot of insight into the workings of development and the property market as a whole.
I’m now very fortunate to be with the team at YFS, where I get to work alongside Trent, our Director of Property Strategy, in project management of the construction of our client’s investment properties. My day-to-day role provides support to both Trent and our clients, as well as coordinating with all external vendors, builders, contractors, and property management teams. There are a lot of moving parts! I help manage and track progress, including payments and claims, all the while keeping everyone in the loop and making sure we do everything we can to smoothly sail through the projects.
It’s very fulfilling being involved in the property journey of people building a home, whether it be their first, second or tenth – it is an accomplishment and a time to be celebrated. For me, being able to offer support and guidance through this exciting (but also daunting!) time leaves me with that ‘feel-good’ vibe. It’s nice to know that clients trust my judgement and opinion on something as important as their property. My absolute favourite thing is seeing/hearing their excitement when they can see their home coming together during the construction updates!
Outside of work I enjoy catching up with friends and family; I’m very much a social butterfly!
I’m also quite involved in community netball and spend a lot of time volunteering for the Mudgeeraba Netball Club, where I am a Life Member and a coach.
