Your Future Strategy managing director Gareth Croy echoed this, saying the scheme was drawing first home buyers into “really large mortgages”.

“It has become increasingly harder for a single person to buy on their own because a single income doesn’t give them the borrowing power,” he said.

In a recent interview with 10 News, Gareth shared how “being asleep at the wheel” can stop you from making the most of the wealth you’ve already built.

Speaking on Sky News, Gareth discusses the upcoming changes to the Home Guarantee Scheme and what it could mean for your future.

New data showing that homeowners are, on average, six times wealthier than renters in retirement.

“Superannuation is just a vehicle – it’s not the destination,” Gareth says.

Australians looking to crack the property market can do so from today with a 5 per cent deposit, but there are concerns the scheme could backfire.

“Property prices have got to a point with servicing capacity that those who might have done it on their own in the past are just priced out with borrowing capacity,” Gareth Croy

Speaking on 9News, Gareth discusses investing in non-traditional assets and what makes them so appealing for investors.

Young Aussies are no longer waiting until later in life to enjoy retirement, with a new trend seeing many of them stopping work before they are even out of their 20s.

The ‘micro-retirement’ trend is increasing in popularity, particularly among Gen Z and Millennial workers, seeing them turn away from the traditional retirement model that heavily relies on superannuation.
